John Roberts shirking his constitutional duty.... AGAIN.

Tweedlethree 23 points ago +23 / -0

Did Roberts finally see the writing on the wall. The fact that he is compromised has really done a number on America. If he had stood up, we the people would have stood his blackmailers down. Too friendly with the creepy Bush's by far.

I think he won't comment, because he thinks that this impeachment is totally unconstitutional and if he addresses it, he gives it credence.

  1. How do you impeach a private citizen?

  2. How can the Chief Justice just take a flyer (unless he already believes this is an unconstitutional exercise in total)?

  3. How can one of the team bringing the suit be tapped for presiding officer?

  4. On the super thin charge, tempered by NUMEROUS proven incidents of auntiefaux incursions, destruction and pain, how can evidence not be contradictory.

Basically, NO JUDGE would take such a shaky case. The only one that would lose would be that judge.

Bruh Chief Justice Roberts is going to do whatever his handlers want him to do. If they say don't comment, he wont comment. If they say preside over this, he will. Chief Justice Roberts can give a damn what the law says, how it works, what he is suppose to do. It is whatever his handlers tell him to do.

I'm so sick of conservatives pretending the courts are going to follow the law. They are not on our side. This is not the way forward, people. Come on...

Trump__Supporter 7 points ago +7 / -0

Texas courts are on our side.
Keep doing the shit the left has done with Hawaii.
Apply it to anything.
Have them stop the impeachment of a civilian.

Congress, especially Democrats, has made the Constitution a piece of parchment. The Capital is the Corporatist House not the people's house.

What a fucking absurd joke the government has become.... all of it... peak 🤡🌎 banana republic

4
TheTelltaleFly 4 points ago +4 / -0

Exactly. Secession is necessary at this point to preserve the constitution.

I was thinking the same thing.

Is Trump going to get screwed again by crooked lawyers?

Is it a day ending in Y?

Trump is not the President. Robert's can't hear the case because the Constitution applies to a sitting President, not citizens. It would have been unconstitutional. Another socialist scam... wasting time and money.

Yes, the chief justice must preside over impeachment of a SITTING president. Is Trump president? Nope. Quit giving these people attention.

5
sully 5 points ago +6 / -1

He's being tried AS President of the United States regardless if he is anymore or not.

That's where the issue lies.

Please don't be a retard...

3
Boobarino 3 points ago +3 / -0

Can't tell what your point really is. Dems are proceeding under the clause that requires the CJ to preside (sitting president). If the are not proceeding under that clause then there is no basis to impeach Trump, a private citizen.

1
NYRepublican72 1 point ago +1 / -0

The President Pro Tempure of the Senate should not be making evidentiary rulings in an impeachment of a President. You can't have it both ways, Dummycrat retards.

I just see it as Roberts being Roberts and shirking his responsibility to rule, including to rule whether this sham trial should be happening to begin with.

TruthWillOut 0 points ago +1 / -1

Actually there is NO mention in the text of a "sitting" President.

"When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside..."

2
Boobarino 2 points ago +2 / -0

That is the clause the dems are impeaching Trump under. CJ must preside. Another flagrant violation of the constitution to have Leahy preside.

There is no other clause that permits an existing or former president to be impeached.

I dont know what this is, but if CJ is not presiding its not impeachment. Appears instead to be a Bill of Attainder. Also unconstitional.⁶

I agree.

Dont let Roberts weasel out of this.

He should be held accountable for the Constitutional outcome of these proceedings.

He shouldn't file anything. It is a nothing. It isn't an impeachment, because the elements are not there.

This 'impeachment' is as valid as me and my friends having an impeachment, and unseating Biden and Pelosi. There is nothing legal about it, and needs no response.

Yep... Just so they will toss it out for no standing... Seems like the puss legal stance these days.

Murder=no standing Rape=no standing Garage door pull looks vaguely like a noose=death penalty with a televised trial

1
BettyCovfefe 1 point ago +1 / -0

They're just admitting that President Trump is still the President... when the impeachment fails... that leaves us with 2 Presidents and a Constitutional crisis. Since china bought Biden we can let them have him and we can keep the real President!!! Win, win

romanhelmet 1 point ago +1 / -0

This current impeachment is DOA.
