The corruption and double standards are happening in plain sight. There are lots of special interests behind the scenes but this is way beyond that.
It's not possible for half the population to all be in a secret society. What you have are a lot of stupid and gullible people who have allowed themselves to be conditioned into accepting the unacceptable.
Eventually this kind of totalitarianism wraps around to consume itself. When it comes to rules for thee not for me the masses that supported it will discover that they're not rulers. They're not at the top of the pecking order. Under this kind of collectivism not many people get to be "me".

Half the population is not in on the club, just people in power, and those who threaten those in power that succumb to their bully tactics. The problem with all this behind the scenes or behind the curtain sort of back stage stuff is that much is left to the imagination.
At this point I see evil spreading as a disease of the mind. Not just some secret clubs. There is private evil and public evil.
I'm seeing public evil. They're sick in the head. They're not operating in secret. It's upfront. Anyone with half a healthy brain and common sense would normally see that most of the stuff they rattle on about is nonsensical or insane. Being able to get away with it no longer in secret poses a new problem.
The purpose of secrecy is impunity. They have impunity without secrecy.
I don't think it's necessary to invoke an invisible evil club when you have a visible evil club. A lot of politicians are compromised but when it comes to the entire democrat party that's a corrupt club of its own.
I honestly don't think a lot of these people in the democrat party realise the collective damage they are doing themselves included.
It's hard to envisage the entire democrat party effectively being infiltrated and compromised but not the republican party.
