I’d love for the Texas legislature to do that, but the blue counties would just keep their county mask mandates in place

Even if Travis county gave up their mandate, Austin is so woke that all the businesses would require them anyway. The ones that wouldn't would suffer losses because the wokeness is strong and they'd be accused of murder or something.

To your point though, I make it my personal mission to not give the City of Austin one penny of tax revenue.

The Texas legislature needs to pass a law requiring "due process" for any form of "stay at home order" on a case by case basis, as well as for any kind of business closure, also on a case by case basis.

Furthermore it should require due process against an individual to force them to wear PPE. You get a positive covid test, the county now has legal recourse to require you to wear a mask and quarantine.
