I think it's even worse. It's not just redistribution of wealth and eventual control of the means of production by the State. It means death. Bridges that collapse. Botched surgeries. Planes that crash. Cars that explode.
We can forestall it for a while, with public-facing equity hires who really don't make technical or material decisions, but that's not good enough for Leftists. They will try to bend reality and proclaim that merit is racist and patriarchical, and that objective laws of physics are to be viewed through that lens. Alternative interpretations are "valid," and then people start to die.
