I was reading a news article on Yahoo today, the article stated that Franklin D Roosevelt took us off the gold standard in 1933, not true, it was Richard M Nixon that took us off gold standard in 1971, I am what is called an elderly person I was there, Nixon stated such during a fire side chat to the nation. Maybe this false information is due to the fact that FDR was a democrat, albeit old school democrat not the nut cakes we have today. Nixon was a republican.
