my theory on the transition craze: almost every situation i've read about involves a gay person. i think there is a lot of self-loathing/hatred which leads to mental instability. in the current climate, it's cool/rad/acceptable to be transitioning and date same sex while pretending to be the opposite sex. more upvotes and likes as opposed to being garden-variety gay. i also think it's a big eff-you to the parents: "my being gay embarrassed and shamed you, try this on for size!" but the key is self-loathing over their sexuality.
