A group of redditors dumped money into gamestop stock. Causing the price to skyrocket. While simultaneously tanking a huge hedge fund than will soon be declaring bankruptcy. So the rich people in charge are getting fleeced by a bunch of basement dwellers and want to shut down the exchange until they can figure out (insider trading) how to right the ship.
