It might seem funny but in reality this is why public schools stopped teaching cursive - so that our children won't be able to read the founding documents for themselves. They want you to think its because of technology but that simply isn't true.
The stopped for a while here but apparently started back up. Even in my day though, they were supposed to make you use cursive from 3rd through 8th grade by law, it was never enforced past 4th and most people stopped writing in it in 5th grade.

I have 4 kids in High School and if they turn in work written in cursive they get a zero on the assignment.
Exactly, which is why it's so important to teach our children to read and write in cursive.
