Can you point to the law which makes it illegal to impersonate Santa Claus or Microsoft for a satirical meme?
They didn't impersonate Santa Claus. They impersonated a political campaign, which I don't think is the main crux of the issue. They used that deception to convince people to vote by text. At least 4900 people did, depriving them of their vote if they did not attempt to vote in any other valid way. The charge is election interference, not impersonating anything.
Having said all that, my response is "4900? Not enough to make a difference."
If I start the Flat Earth President Campaign and you satirize it with something that looks like it may be part of that campaign, what law will send you to jail?
