FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Wednesday, January 27, 2021 Social Media Influencer Charged with Election Interference Stemming from Voter Disinformation Campaign

Defendant Unlawfully Used Social Media to Deprive Individuals of Their Right to Vote

A Florida man was arrested this morning on charges of conspiring with others in advance of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election to use various social media platforms to disseminate misinformation designed to deprive individuals of their constitutional right to vote.

Douglass Mackey, aka Ricky Vaughn, 31, of West Palm Beach, was charged by criminal complaint in the Eastern District of New York. He was taken into custody this morning in West Palm Beach and made his initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce E. Reinhart of the Southern District of Florida.

“According to the allegations in the complaint, the defendant exploited a social media platform to infringe one the of most basic and sacred rights guaranteed by the Constitution: the right to vote,” said Nicholas L. McQuaid, Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division. “This complaint underscores the department’s commitment to investigating and prosecuting those who would undermine citizens’ voting rights.”

“There is no place in public discourse for lies and misinformation to defraud citizens of their right to vote,” said Seth D. DuCharme, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. “With Mackey’s arrest, we serve notice that those who would subvert the democratic process in this manner cannot rely on the cloak of Internet anonymity to evade responsibility for their crimes. They will be investigated, caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

“Protecting every American citizen’s right to cast a legitimate vote is a key to the success of our republic,” said William F. Sweeney Jr., Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s New York Field Office. “What Mackey allegedly did to interfere with this process – by soliciting voters to cast their ballots via text – amounted to nothing short of vote theft. It is illegal behavior and contributes to the erosion of the public’s trust in our electoral processes. He may have been a powerful social media influencer at the time, but a quick Internet search of his name today will reveal an entirely different story.”

This is FRIGHTENING. THIS IS HAPPENING AS WE SPEAK.

Can someone find the meme? Clearly not election interference. They are on the offensive to find anything that diverts from THEIR election Fraud of 2020.

And law abiding people are now being crushed under their offensive. This is TYRANNY.

But state sponsored propaganda ads are totally OK during elections - its just peasants who aren't allowed to share their opinions.

Welcome to the most limp dick version of Hitler you've ever seen.

In a sane world this is clearly protected by the first amendment. ... In a sane world...

They went back four years to get this guy. There is no longer anything protecting anyone from their tyranny. They're going to go all in now. They're going to hunt down everyone who has any influence at all, then work their way down to anyone who could have influence before settling on anyone who even looks at anything the wrong way.

I will reply to you again just to watch them remove my reply, which was basically this: Who the fuck are the decision-makers of the topics deemed worthy to put in the TOP on this forum?? Something seems pretty fucked up. I cannot tell you how many big stories pedes should be made aware of in the last 2 weeks that do not get highlighted on here. Like....almost.......suppressed. Wtf?

As the election approached, the complaint says Mackey and others, “spread disinformation about the manner by which citizens could and should cast their votes” by creating and sharing information that said supporters of Hillary Clinton could vote for her by posting a specific hashtag on Twitter or Facebook, or by texting her name to a specific telephone code.

The complaint says Mackey designed and sent out these messages, “with the intent that supporters of [Clinton] would believe the fraudulent information” and “attempt to cast their votes via social media or text message.”

In a statement, the United States Department of Justice shared more examples, including an image Mackey allegedly tweeted on Nov. 1, 2016, featuring an African American woman standing in front of an “African Americans for [Hillary]” sign. The image included the following text: “Avoid the Line. Vote from Home.” The image then advised voters to text Clinton’s name to a number.

According to the DOJ, before Election Day 2016, at least 4,900 unique telephone numbers texted to the number.

This reminds me of all those Trump voters who were told that they could vote in person. They went to the polls, waited for hours, voted, and then had their votes switched to Biden. Those Election Supervisors that told people they could vote in person should be charged.

Those that had something to do with the switching, plus those trying to cover it up should be. Totally agree.

But I was told, in 2016, by the FBI, CIA, DHS, DOJ, ATF, NSA, Area 51, and the Coast Guard Reserve, that Russia "hacked" the Hilary Clinton campaign, and the DNC. And that is was very possibly likely that the Trump campaign, probably maybe, partnered with Vladimir Putin himself, to do the hacking.

And then I wasn't told, until after the 2018 elections, and after two and a half years of intense investigation, that they found absolutely nothing, and that it was all bullshit.

And then I didn't find out, until like a week ago, after the 2020 election, that everybody, at every level of government already knew that Trump had nothing to do with "colluding with Russia", and that they knew all accusations were made up by Hilary Clinton, for the sole purpose of influencing the election, by blatantly lying to the American people, about things they knew weren't true!

But, sure, arrest a humble meme maker, because some people are really fucking stupid.

The shittiest part of this is I received no less than 10 texts from the NAACP and Dem Party in Georgia on how I should vote by mail and I have never lived in GA nor had a GA phone number. I’ve had the same mobile number for 15 years.

So when team potato Biden lied and said my vote would count in 2020 and then it was negated by election fraud, what’s the penalty for that? How about when poll watchers are forced out of polling stations? Selective outrage strikes again.

Sorry, I scrolled Top thru 30 threads before I made my own. Pretty sure if the mods can’t keep something this important pinned for the day then they need to be berated. Sure....it might have been the 31st thread if I had just kept scrolling, and I would have seen an existing thread, but it should not get submerged like that.
Ridiculous what gets pinned and what doesn’t. Bunch of 20-somethings modding this place I guess.

“Protecting every American citizen’s right to cast a legitimate vote is a key to the success of our republic,” said William F. Sweeney Jr., Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s New York Field Office.

Ummm ......

That's all we ever wanted. Whether it was Trump, Biden, Kanye, or Jorgensen who won, we wanted only legitimate legally cast votes to be counted. Nothing more, nothing less.

That's not an unreasonable request.
