I live in Boulder County Colorado. And about six months ago I contacted our health department and asked why they don’t put the deaths on the graph that shows the cases, Explaining how it would provide a lot of context and get rid of some fear.
The response I was given was this
“ I chatted with our data team about your request and they let me know that they considered including CFR but ultimately decided against it because it tells an incomplete story about the burden of COVID. As you say, death is an important outcome, but we do not have data to show other important outcomes, like cases with severe or “long haul” symptoms who may have been impacted by job loss or other burdens, so felt including CFR would not show the complete picture.”
however the counties that are bordering mine have much more data (age, race, gender breakdowns) I’m willing to bet that Boulder County is one of top 50 most affluent counties in the country. They don’t have the data and believe their people are too dumb?? Wtf that’s come Chinese bullshit
Well the funny thing is that the information is in their “dashboard” right above the graph. But for those who can’t do fractions in their head or care to figure out the CFR On their own by one calculation just see the scary graph of cases exponentially increasing.
I was just trying to get them to draw it out so people could conclude for themselves more easily without math. But that would give it away....

Sounds like they were not having enough deaths vs. cases, so they left that information off the graph.
