Yeah it can, but I am not against more states joining us. Alaska can fit all 7 billion people in the world where each person gets 2 acres. Texas, while not as large (though we don't speak of this unless necessary), can sure as hell fit 75 million.

Not enough water for much more than we have now. TX needs to secede because the GND will destroy the power grid and we need coal/NG electricity to make the place habitable in the summer.

I think that's what is behind the GND, making places like TX and AZ unlivable

Lots of texas is very wet. Besides, nothing a pile of thorium breeder reactors and some desalination can't fix!
