The big mistake they made was that their movement got caught up with bullshit movements like the muh racisms and the muh sexisms, that diluted the intended message.
I would argue that the Occupy movement was co-opted by those groups on orders from DNC or other power brokers because of how the message was broad enough that people on our side agreed enough to punch up with them. You throw racism and sexism into the mix and we just abandon the position because we can smell the bullshit.
Its the same reason the TEAparty failed as a viable movement in the Republican party. It put the screws to the RINOs but you had groups like the Kotch Bros come in and help co-op through funding it went nowhere. Instead the group got labeled a mouthpiece by Occupy for the very same people we were fighting.
Imagine if Occupy and TEAparty caught wind on what the elites were trying to do...the election landscape would have had people voted in that would have jailed a good half of the DC and Wall St swamp on SEC violations alone.
