The most requested community in the past week: WallstreetBets
We've been following the situation, not wanting to release a WSB community without having their mods onboard. Well, we still don't have their mods on board. We talked to them in mid-2020, but never came to an agreement.
We hope that they don't get banned from Reddit (we'd pick up a good portion of that traffic, so don't do it, Steve.)
Having said that... the WSB Discord server just got banned (for hate, by the way), and it's very possible that the subreddit suffers the same fate...

We've had some well known WSB users reach out asking for us to set this up, and even some people who have been involved in the running of WSB, but to be very clear, this is NOT officially affiliated with the WSB subreddit (but we'll hand it over to them when they want it)
Update: WSB is NOT banned on Reddit. It's private, which is normally a decision by the moderators.
The Discord ban is a coordinated hit, and has nothing to do with “hate speech”, that’s just the boilerplate excuse they always use.
Much like they did to us. This is the elites vs the people. Can’t coexist on the enemy’s platform when they selectively interpret rules to ban you.
They should 100% get off Reddit and come here.

Have the team spout hate speech or otherwise illegal speech
Screencap it/record it before the mods can take it down
File a complaint with host

Yea, that’s just what I’d assume and should be the default assumption from now on. This is only going to get worse I would bet.
Basically (for anyone who doesn’t already know this) the tactic that the authoritarians use is to attack a subreddit, discord, etc, by having one or more shills go in and post random crap like “kill all [members of group X]” or similar, and if the mods can’t delete it fast enough or deal with it somehow then the forum/chat/etc gets banned for “hate” after the shills report the sub/etc for the messages they themselves posted.
Back on reddit the posts they cited for our "hate speech" ban were all screencapped at 1-3 minutes old. They get to be judge, jury, executioner, and criminal all at once.
Apparently, they used "icelandic characters" to post some N-bombs, screencapped them, and reported to Discord mods... And that's all it took to wipe out a Discord community of 250,000 users.
Normally I’d say we should have laws and due process for this kind of stuff, but hey the law gets violated and not enforced so often now it wouldn’t do any good.
