If you can afford it, see about getting a power wall (big battery) for your home along with solar panels. Get off the grid and get ahead.
See if your expertise can be used for installation of "battery farms", solar panels, or something renewable energy related. You'll probably have a head start of a few years because companies will want to keep selling as much oil and gas as they can.
Lefties don't know how to turn a wrench much less know what its like to sweat so I have faith that we will find a way to survive. They still need plant workers, laborers, mechanics, etc but it'll be for an industry centered around green energy.
The biggest issue is supply. I'm a huge fan of electric cars but we're nowhere near ready to supply the market with EVs and batteries.
I have a regular gas car from the 90s. Fuel injected but everything is mechincal and computer simply reads sensor data and throw an error code if the readings are incorrect. It doesn't control anything other than the injectors.
Any idea what that conversion would need with this setup?

Yea......Look into ethanol conversions for your vehicle.........long term solutions here
