Remember the first time I heard about 1984. Read an interview with SOAD in MetalHammer. It was back in the late '90s. They claimed we're living in 1984. I didn't get it. Asked my dad was what that all about. He explained and I got it. (www.youtube.com)

I read the book following this conversation with my dad, twice. It was actually the very first book I read voluntarily besides those that were required. And no, it wasn't required where I lived at the time.
