Or, like, they’ve all watched On Deadly Ground one too many times and think all this shit is being suppressed and if we just killed oil those jobs would magically appear.

They don’t exist because the industry doesn’t turn enough of a profit. It’s literally the simplest thing to understand.

Conventional hydrocarbon fuels will be far cheaper than "renewable" energy for the foreseeable future. You don't see China or India slowing down their use of coal and gas

Don't forget nuclear. We already have a tried and true, pollution free alternative. The amount of waste is miniscule, and if you go the route of minireactors, even the worst case "meltdowns" aren't a big deal.
