I had to get a new phone because I broke my old phone. I got an unlocked Pixel 3, in because I knew I wanted to install a clean OS that does not have a bunch of tracking software backed into it.
I have installed LineageOS on 3 devices without issue, Pixel 3, Moto E, Moto G6. For me, I am on Cricket wireless, the older phones that support 3G are being phased out for their network, another reason I got the Pixel 3.

I have to admit, I almost went with a dumb phone ... that is an option too.
Thanks for the info! I think I'll get an older Motorola unit and see how that goes... I like what I see in LineageOS for sure!
