Just check out DeFi Decentralized Finance Its an alternative to the very powerful centralized Financial Institutions that control much of the world today. It has really exploded over the last year. That they have not really tried to destroy it yet shows that they do not really understand it yet. Its probably too late now anyway.
You are going to be hearing a lot about it over the next few years and it is going to change a lot of the way things are done.
Where, how can I learn more?
Just remember this is like the wild west right now and you should not be playing around with money that you need to pay the rent or for expenses.
But if you have extra money to play around with the possibilities are unlimited. There is always going to be crash and burn from people who have no idea what they are doing and Can't figure it out or are just doing really wild things but a number of these things are already really successful.
There is no reason we have to exclusively use the New York Stock Exchange to trade stocks we can now do it privately and peer to peer.
When it disrupts the traditional power brokers and they send their agents to try to break it up it will be funny if that has been expected and the only option they have is how to put some computer code in jail.
Coindesk is always a good place to find out what is going on it that world.

Even Wikipedia has a surprisingly good explanation of DeFi
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decentralized_finance
Decentralized finance (commonly referred to as DeFi) is an experimental form of finance that does not rely on central financial intermediaries such as brokerages, exchanges, or banks, and instead utilizes smart contracts on blockchains, the most common being Ethereum.[1] DeFi platforms allow people to lend or borrow funds from others, speculate on price movements on a range of assets using derivatives, trade cryptocurrencies, insure against risks, and earn interest in a savings-like account.[2] Some DeFi applications promote high interest rates, with some providers offering triple-digit interest rates,[2] but are subject to high risk.[1] By October 2020, over $11 billion was deposited in various decentralized finance protocols, which represented more than a tenfold growth during the course of 2020.[3][2] As of January 2021, approximately $20.5 billion was invested in DeFi.[4]

Thank you, finance fren, I did a rapid deep dive on this and initial autismo scans reveal this to look promising. I will be turning my attention to this more thoroughly later this week.
