I did a lot of soul searching on this issue. I used to like Rand Paul mostly because he seemed to stand by his own principles regardless of getting beat up for it. And I got just as mad at him as everybody else for voting the wrong way. But let me point something out.

That election isn’t required by the constitution. My understanding is that the election wasn’t always held. The state legislators choose the electors. From what I heard him say he voted certifying that those electors were the ones chosen by the states. I believe that to be true because it seemed that the Trump teams main strategy was to get Pence to send them back to the states to correct their certification based on the election fraud findings. None of that sounds like a sure thing to me. Pence was going to certify regardless of the how the senate voted anyways.

That said, Rand has since come out saying that he intends to get to the bottom of the state certification process and shore up the weaknesses. If he can do all that, I for one will forgive him. Ya I’m still mad but if he can help our fraudulent selection process I believe there is redemption there.

The proof is in the pudding though.

That wasn’t what the vote was for. The vote was whether or not to certify the electoral college based on either the fraud or the unconstitutional election law changes
