You are vastly overestimating how much they changed. First off, you're incorrect as they had the same values long before WW2. Second, they definitely love American media and cultural exports, but they didn't change anything about their traditional culture. You should talk to someone who has been there, they do not act like Americans at all (and in fact consider us quite rude by their standards).
