eeeeyyyy look its working! ppl are seeing the establishment false dichotomy

39
Licensetomeme 39 points ago +39 / -0

Politics is too complex to be two sided.

21
poconopede 21 points ago +21 / -0

the two party system has confused ppl.

13
Licensetomeme 13 points ago +13 / -0

This is true. The only sides worth mentioning, imo, is the distribution of power and its consolidation.

11
Isolated_Patriot 11 points ago +11 / -0

While true, the divide and conquer strategy works MUCH better when there are more than two parties. See: Any country with more than two parties.

80960KA 6 points ago +6 / -0

I think it just makes the illusion stronger without changing anything in effect. Looking at Europe from the outside it seems like most of the time there are two major coalitions that act as hyper-parties in multi-party parliaments. So it's basically just a two party system made up of special snowflake interest clubs.

Isolated_Patriot 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's even worse than that. Take all the in-fighting you see on the left and imagine they actually had a "real" party instead of just being the Communists vs the Socialists vs the Entrenched Cronies.

Take all the hate they direct at the conservatives and imagine power the media would hold to show that "4 out of five parties think the fifth one is acting racist."

Take all the Mitt Romney's and imagine how much capitulating they would do to keep that from being said about them.

Now take all the capitulating the uniparty does behind closed doors, and realize that the most expedient thing for the Mitt Romney's to do is to side with some of the liberal parties against the other liberal parties in order to form a "coalition government." (A literal uniparty with actual paperwork.) And to do so they have to gain points with voters other than straight conservatives by pushing policies that mirror the other parties and pushing back against any policies that their own voter base wants if they are "too controversial."

And that's how Canada has five flavors of Communism.

Every country with more than two parties still has this left-right dichotomy, and all the parties fall on the scale and vote in one of two directions.

2
LostViking1985 2 points ago +2 / -0

I don't know about that. I think corruption is corruption. Any system with "parties", whether 2 or 10, just needs enough palms greased to fuck over the little guy. Countries like Denmark that have smaller populations, smaller economies, and a smaller country where no one is really ever "distant" from anyone else, also have less (but NOT zero) corruption to deal with. There simply isn't enough wealth or power to be had there, so the largest foreign powers go for bigger targets. The highest levels of influence and power are played out amongst the largest economies of the world.

I'm starting to think this whole thing maybe "the shot heard round the world". It's going to be a digital war but war none the less. But please while you're watching this unfurl also pay attention to the dude they are trying to put in jail for 10 years over a meme and our illustrious leaders trying to make D.C. a state...also very important stories.

ParticleCannon 11 points ago +11 / -0

Sneakers (1992) had it right. The War is fought in 1's and 0's.

6
80960KA 6 points ago +6 / -0

I think Sneakers is STILL the most accurate movie about hacking/corporate espionage ever made. Not exactly "realistic" but you can tell they had very good technical advisors and the basic tradecraft is still pretty similar.

I'd love to say a Sneakers 2 made with similar attention to detail but set in 201X with Stingray boxes and cellphone hacking would be good, but I'm sure now hollywood would make the main character a loud fat black woman and all the "hacking" would just be CGI sparkles and nonsense technobabble.

2
Hunter1970 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nah, a hackjob like that? They'll have two fat black women typing furiously on the same keyboard.

And then they scissor.

Basically imagine another remake of a Dan Akroyd classic: Ghostbusters 2016.

Divide & Conquer:

A strategy for achieving political or military control.

25
crazyjackel 25 points ago +25 / -0

Look, we don't like how the government treats the little guy either, we just don't think making them into government entities is the correct solution. We instead want free market decentralized forces to do the job at taking out rich people who fuck over the everyday person.

We don't want the corporately controlled unions or institutions that act with government oversight and permissions.

17
dr_gonzo 17 points ago +17 / -0

The average Democrat just wants the big and powerful corporations to not be able to tramp all over the little guys? In what universe is that statement remotely true? Bezos, Zuckerberg, Dorsey, Gates, Buffet, Cook are all Democrats that run the biggest corporations in the world, and they spend their time tenaciously attacking both individuals and businesses. I mean, give me a break.

Government interventionism creates uber-corporations. It doesn't contain them. (news flash, bureaucrats are entirely corruptible)

8
OWCA 8 points ago +8 / -0

Bezos, Zuckerberg, Dorsey, Gates, Buffet, Cook

those guys aren't the definition of a an average democrat

6
ajmlecciones 6 points ago +6 / -0

Will an average Democrat vote for a person supported and propped up by those guys?

7
kyblugrass 7 points ago +7 / -0

For older Democrats who where with the party before Clinton, the rights of the worker and standing up to corporate management is still true for them. After Clinton, and ramping up through Obama, the party became split, and is run by big business that pays lip service to all those Democrats beliefs, and a faction of marxist radicals that gas light and brow beat the more normal Democrats into submission.

The critical theory shit is working as intended. Keep your employees focused on and divided with astroturfed nonsense race and sex issues so there's no chance they'll unify against you.

NotMyGovernor 15 points ago +15 / -0

Ya well Trump support wasn't a right / left wing issue. It was a Communist / Freedom supporting issue. So everyone who didn't support Trump, was a communist. Most decided to click into leftism.

14
MarginofFraud 14 points ago +14 / -0

I mean, there definitely is a forced team sports opposition made by each side of the political spectrum, but this kumbaya shit glosses over a lot of policy differences too. The real lesson that needs to be pushed through is that the political left is often times far more radical than they campaign on while never being the radicalism most of their voters want. The message for the right is that the right as far more spineless and "liberal" than they say on the campaign trail. At this moment the right and the left are in agreement at this moment on the fact that the financial institutions serve a political/elite class. This is a crossing point that should be used to exchange other ideas. Don't just leave it at the momentary economics, because once this ends, the left will go back to deplatforming the right and trying to hike taxes and a host of other shitty policies and the right will go back to pretending to oppose those things but doing so ineffectively. When the Wall Street folks try and deplatform Robinhood traders and shut down discord channels, use that are an opener to talk to the left about the dangers of tech monopolies and authoritarian censorship (which they've been tacitly promoting for 4 years). When they all have to pay taxes on their earnings, red pill them about how bullshit the capital gains taxes are and instead of letting them think another tax hike will fix it, make them realize the rich are never affected by changes in the tax code because they've got tax avoidance down pat and they negotiate all their own loopholes with their friends in Congress. Tax hikes only ever hurt the middle class and never eat the rich like the left thinks they will. There are far better lessons to teach the other side than this kumbaya about controlled opposition. We won't always agree, but don't let the only lesson they learn be the one about political false promises and controlled opposition. Get into the policy details and make conservatives out of them.

whippeat 11 points ago +11 / -0

Is this the unity we talked about? Haha

10
Tintop 10 points ago +10 / -0

While both sides need to come together against tyranny and fraud, be careful with the unity message they're peddling. They want us unified as republican and democrat taxpayers (different parties, same people) so they can go back to their old games of exploitation.

But things are different now. Trump blew the whole thing wide open. We need to unify as patriots. We need to stop warring with each other and turn against our oppressors.

Interesting anecdote there at the end. I saw something similar, where the fucking Proud Boys showed up to a BLM protest and de-escalated the whole thing. BLM Megaphone Woman gave Proud Boy Leader the megaphone (probably hoping to hit him with some GOTCHA) and everyone chilled out and went home.

5
Trumpy_Bear 5 points ago +5 / -0

Except that the Left IS the party of the globalists and ever increasing government power. I mean, what kind of idiot sees shit like this WSB situation, sees the government protecting the elite, and then thinks the solution is MORE government power?

4
HuntStevenson 4 points ago +4 / -0

Its very true both sides are in fact closer than they realize. It's the politicians and media driving a wedge between us.

It is darkest before dawn. I can only hope that the end result of the current Biden Shit Show and what just happened with Wall Street is ordinary people wake up and realize how great of a president Trump was and that the elites in Wall Street, the MSM, and social media coordinated his “loss” so they could get him out of the way.

Trump would have told Wall Street to get fucked when they came crawling to him, asking him to stop the mean Reddit mob from wiping out their COVID profits in a day. Biden just bent over and obeyed his real masters.

3
bobobob 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think both sides agree on the problem of the system stomping out the "middle class", but they don't agree on the solutions.

In my opinion, the problem stems from the transfer of middle class jobs from our country into cheap/slave labor countries like China. This has led to an oversupply of job seekers and not enough jobs available to fill. Too much supply with not enough demand always leads to low prices, which we've seen through decades of stagnant wages.

The left wants to attack this problem by empowering the government to force companies to raise minimum wages and pay high taxes that will (presumably) be passed back to citizens.

The right wants to attack the problem through regulation and tax cuts to create a preferable business environment here rather than in foreign countries. Trump also attacked the problem by adding tariffs to make our domestic goods price competitive with foreign made goods.

3
NerBolanski 3 points ago +3 / -0

You made the best statement. I like the OP but it is a naive post. We can have overlapping agreements with the Left on certain things but our core philosophies and ideologies are different. Joining together with them will help the Left in the long term especially when the right is very weak.

The party and the philosophies of the Party are two different things. John Mccain is a Neocon but if you check the history of Neoconservatism; the founders were former democrats who were disillusioned with the democrat party and joined the republican party while approaching things from an area of big government and love of foreign wars.

WakandanScientist 3 points ago +3 / -0

"But the media will work tirelessly to paint both sides as extremists so their owners can stay in power." This is idiotic. Only one side is being called the biggest threat to our government, with a bullseye placed by federal law enforcement agencies and billion dollar corporations and banks, and now getting threatened with federal charges for MEMES. The other side is not only not being called extremist, their extremist behaviors get downplayed or blamed on US. They still believe it was a bunch of Blanco Supremes that started the riots. And their actions STILL benefit the sponsors of the media. This "both sides" centrist nonsense is insufferable.

That said, if these guys want to deliver some black eyes to the system, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. It'll be easier to redpill them once they too join the domestic terrorist club.

3
NerBolanski 3 points ago +3 / -0

Centrist are the biggest fools i have ever seen. They maintain that position because they wat to be loved by everybody whilst being hated by everyone.

We're really not so different. Commies are anti-establishment even more than we are. I'll take principled people with opposing viewpoints over crooks any day. The enemy of my enemy is my temporary friend.

Commies only need to understand equality of outcomes incentivizes laziness.

2
SuitwoWTR 2 points ago +2 / -0

Democrats are part of the corruption. They like the rest of the establishment only have each others back and would toss the working class aside of if meant they could afford another yachts. But what they do is try to divert people's attention away from their corruption so no one noticed they leave government with far more money than they started with and no one is the wiser.

The issue is half the people realize this isn't a real free market (free market in the US has been dead for awhile now) and then the left that are saying this is a prime example of free market failure.

They'll put more eggs in the government's basket which means the very people that are already bought will just need to up their game and do the hedge fund bidding much earlier when these cases arise.

"Perhaps the liberals were never for the little man the while time??"

And this guy comes in an perpetuates the divide. Liberals are not Progressives. Progressives are not Liberals. Liberalism and Conservatism are brother ideologies. If people like this could learn the lay of the ideological land, it'd be much easier to unify the patriotic people of this country instead of dividing them.
