The deadline won't be Friday. The brokers they lent from will be forced to extend as this threatens way too many powerful people.

These people learnt a lot in 2020, but also in 2008. The general public is far too docile and usually do nothing.

While yes, what has happened today is downright illegal (Robinhood has even sold people's stocks without their permission), unless lengthy prison sentences occur (unlikely) they will take far smaller losses with any and all lawsuits they face. Losing even a few billion in a government-led lawsuit will mean what they did was absolutely worth it since their loss would've been far worse.

This is why they say that violence is terrible. It's "un-American". It's blah, blah, blah. When you leave the general public with no other alternative, why so angry when they revolt??? You left them with no choice!
