People are hating on me because I believe what reddit people have done is unethical and really no different than what the banksters of the 1920s did to those they called the "suckers". However, it does not make me sad that the people that created these schemes in the first place are getting a taste of their own medicine. Hopefully some good will come out of all of this.
The hedge funds selling millions of naked short sells are sharks. They knew what they were getting into, they just never thought they would get caught.
The only downside I can see is that the people who bought the put options and actual shares will get screwed over when the hedge funds go tits up, and they can't pay their bills.
Though, I'm pretty sure that a number of these hedge funds and insiders are trying to liquidate and protect as much shit as they can before they go boom.
Definitely not defending the hedge funds, worked with those orgs and they come up with schemes all the time that are unethical. I'm not crying for the victims at all here, I'm just hoping the reddit people that did this don't make it a habit. If so, they're complete hypocrites. Let's see how much of the money they made they donate to good causes, that will speak volumes.
I hope the money they made goes to good causes as well, such as medical bills and medical insurance, maybe student loans or mortgages, maybe household bills or to friends and family who may be in need. I’m thinking even a nice dinner out or a weekend getaway if there not in a lockdown area.....all good causes.
