I am a registered democrat in Tampa Florida. My party has left me, I am going to run for a local office. should I run as a Democrat or a Republican? I am sick of this shit and I will make a change. I just want to be the most effective. Tampa is blue, I am purple leaning to red...

It would depend on your district I guess. But just level with people - just be honest and say look, I've been a democrat my whole life, but I despise both parties now - and just clearly state your policy positions and keep everyone informed of what you do.
