I've learned so much about the stock market today! Like, what shorting is, what hedge funds do, how brokers and trading platforms work. So fun! So educational! The thought has popped into my head now- hedge funds.

-They make money when stocks fall, especially when they know companies will go bankrupt.

-They are predatory and try to encourage the bankruptcy of companies they target.

-They lobby the fuck out of D.C., both parties, and state governments. They are mind-bogglingly rich and have money to burn.

Ipso facto.... they were logically the main groups lobbying for shutdowns, no? Who had the most to gain?

Maybe not the lockdown but definitely winners and losers in retail after. They pushed GameStop so hard they wanted them bankrupt. The politicians hurt the mom and pop stores and now the hedge funds are going after the medium retail stores. It’s disgusting. I hope there is some way to stop it!
