The drill/mine/frack ban is on all federal lands.

Just like the wall is banned on all federal lands.

The Federal government owns quite a bit of land in all the states. That's what makes this a pain in the ass.

Order barely affects Texas, may fuck the shit out of NM though.

Not that I care very much, they shouldn't have voted for him if they didn't want to lose their biggest source of revenue but it's sad.

The federal government leases access. Slant drilling into protected federal lands is a thing apparently… https://www.nps.gov/parkhistory/online_books/thro/adhi4.htm You could research it further if you're interested. Most federal land isn't protected in that way though.

Also, that map isn't high resolution. A lot of areas that appear solid there contain quite a bit of privately owned land that is surrounded by federal lands; even in National Parks/Forests/Monuments/etc. There are more detailed maps around if you care to look for them, but most of the readily available ones are rather dated.

Well both those bans are stupid. Why should a puppet president be able to make those decisions without being answerable to anyone?

If any one of us were in charge of building the wall, we ought to say "fuck you, we already got paid, we have the materials, it's getting built. Take deez nutz to court if you don't like it. Meanwhile, our teams will keep building."
