Its astro-turfing. Something big happened w/ the left unprepared. They then try to coopt resistance against it. Its virtue signaling. The democrats "against" it are complicity in the corruption and due to the instant popularity of bashing it, they pretend to be against it for the moment. They've never done anything to change it in the past, and they wont in the future, because theyre complicit, but that wont stop them from acting like they dont like it for a brief moment.
