umm, Muslims did do the attacks on 9/11. One of the biggest mistakes Bush made right at the beginning of the war on terror, was trying to tell the world who was and wasn't a Muslim. He should have left religion completely out of it and by no means, should have put himself in the position of deciding who is and isn't a Muslim.
Concur, that was idiotic. And then to make some point about the country not being anti Muslim, the idiot lets tend of thousands of Muslims into the country. Thats how we ended up with once beautiful Minneapolis turning into crime ridden Little Mogadishu and we will forever more get anti American extremists like Omar represent the still smoldering city. if people only knew her family's history of war crimes in Somalia they would know how full of shit the State Department and their " extreme vetting " bs is and question why we give refuge to such people.
I think the nation went into identity politics overdrive because the left wanted to turn every anti-Muslim and anti-Islamic statement into a racial issue. I used to have almost daily arguments with atheists and agnostics who would tell me that Islam is peaceful religion and then would deny that the hate is in the Koran while responding about Deuteronomy or such (I wasn't a Christian at the time).
To be fair though, as a fellow Minneapolitan, The Somalis were brought over by Bill Clinton and Senator Paul Wellstone. It started in the 1990's. honestly, it started when George H.W. Bush invaded Somalia AFTER he lost the election.
Thanks for the feedback. Our immigration policy makes no sense. And then the bs with the State Department promising all refugees go through " extreme vetting" is just nonsense. I remember watching a documentary where a woman who worked for the US Refugee Resettlement Program blew the lid off the whole scam. She said safe relatively affluent areas with strong tax bases were chosen because the refugees would immediately be put on welfare programs. Many had no identification and were often issued fake names and put on social security disability for " mental disability " on day one. The churches would " sponsor " the refugees for $10k a head from the federal government. But it meant nothing, the church didn't really keep track of them at all. This man at Catholic Charities was asked about a refugee the church " sponsored " in Texas who immediately traveled to Illinois and killed three people. He just shrugged his shoulders and admitted the program was a joke. They provide shelter for a few weeks until they can get them into government housing ( which they are prioritized for) and then they never follow up with them again and the Church gets $10k.
