Outside of someone related by blood or other uncontrollable bonds, it would be pretty flattering to have an assassin. I mean, I wouldn’t necessarily want them to succeed, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone else, but I think someone taking the time and going out of their way to take me out — with all the planing and risk that generally involves — that’s a pretty big nod to my importance in their little lifeworld. An importance that I and most other people will never garner (and yes, all for the better).
If someone accused me of trying to kill them, my response would be: oh you'll know if I'm trying to kill you.
