I know a young man who is part of this. Mostly the reason they got started was to keep Game Stop in business. Then they got told to stop and it got personal. This generation of young people grew up playing video games and when bored hacked them to annoy people. They are doing this now to annoy the elites who have gotten wealthy with the selling short for years.
I was told the guy that started it has made $60 million and cost the hedge firms over a billion.
