Just a thought because I try to put relationships above politics, as hard as that can be sometimes. If he spent a lot of nights with you ranting and you clearly felt that had value, then maybe he could have just raged about BLM and all that bullshit and you could have just heard him out and not counter him. I don't mean to assume what went down, so forgive me if I don't get what happened. I have people in my life that are all blm and such. I just let it go and know that even if they don't get it all, they are trying to do what they think is right.
However, I can't imagine what you could have done to deserve that bullshit note. So maybe you need to let him go, for the both of you.
