That was actually my first redpill moment back in 2014.
One of my long time friends called me racist for simply asking him to show me ONE institution in the United States that had discriminatory rules systemically set into them.
He obviously couldn't so it just turned into him calling me 'simple minded' and 'too stupid to understand at best and a racist at worst'.
Thing then started going the way you explained above and I moved away. Fuck those people seriously.

Happened to me as well. Someone I’d known for years suddenly cut ties when it dawned on her that I was a Trump supporter mid2020. Her view of me did a 180 instantly and I was all of the isms and ists that you have heard through the years.
