Simply put, you are experiencing the result of critical race theory indoctrination. Critical race theory is a cancer and seeks to divide people. That division—sowing disunity among Americans—is the only way it can propagate freely.
You pose a great question... what HAS happened to people? And to our country? I've posted several long-ass comments over time detailing the dangers of critical race theory and the need to understand it in order to identity it and stop it... because it is not easy to understand. That is purposefully done so it can infiltrate various groups... and by the time you realize something is wrong, it is too late. But those posts never seem to never get any traction, lol, so I will not repeat them here. Hey, I get it, it is an obtuse subject, and it feels like we can just ignore critical race theory or just call it dumb... but that's playing right into its hands. It is the hidden danger in our society today, and there needs to be active counter-pressure on its spread.
