Yep. The whole time he kept saying he was "educating me". Honestly it rubbed me the wrong way from the get go.
He's a missionary and you are someone who has to be converted.
It's the same human behavior that just keeps repeating throughout history.
They are on a mission to cleanse the ignoble savages around them with their "truth".
Even if that means killing and enslaving children? Not sure what religion he's pushing, but count me out.
It's been noted that "recent converts" to a religion (or cult) tend to be sometimes the most vocal , the most stringent and the most zealous (to a point when even longtime practitioners are like "WTF ???") .
Some have already talked here about "intersectionality" or "neo-Marxism" to use another term for it . It's a secular project , but it has many of the markers of a religion or a cult .
If your friend is a recent "convert" he may very well act like he's seen the fucking "light" and like I said before -- some react to recent religious conversion with zealous enthusiasm .
Others here have said "fuck'em" . I think you may get your friend back in time (maybe) . But that time won't be any time soon . Use your own judgement when / if that time comes , if you want them back in your life or not . Marxist ideologies tend to not end well .
