While it may sound innocuous, once the precedent of taxing net worth is established, it could be easily applied to any level of net worth and likely would be.

Fun fact: People who have that kind of money, can afford to live in a different country and "vacation" here. Rich people aren't going to pay a cent of that tax.

That's how the Wilson administration pitched the 16th Amendment in 1913: "it's just a 1¢ on the dollar tax of only the wealthiest earners" and...boom.

Rather than this, why don't we jail the rich assholes that got their wealth illegally and take a 100 cent tax?

2-6% of “a family’s” net worth - not income - over $50 mill. So couples, kids, etc? Wow, what’s $109 million dollar Nancy and $200 million Diane think of this little proposal? I’m sure they’re all in because...equity. 😆

Everything the rich have now, the poor will get in the future. I think this is fucked up as it is, but for anyone who doesn't realize: It won't stop with the rich. This will come down to you. One day you'll wake up and your bank account will be raided, your car will be gone, and some foreign guy will be moving into your house because the government needed it more than you
