How come Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Robinhood, Redditt, .... "reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" but a baker in Colorado doesn't have the same right? Inquiring minds want to know

Because 230 protection, and Conservative isn't a protected class...yet.

Wrong answer. The right answer is "communism" and "there are no fucking rules".

Except the Securities and Exchange Commission regulates trading. This isn’t a “if you don’t like me pausing your stonk then build your own stonk trading” thing.

I think 9/11 ushered in some rules to freeze all trading, but a trading platform can’t pause your ability to trade for the benefit of the platform’s overlords.

But it also comes down to prosecutorial discretion. If Janet Yellen told them all it’s fine we won’t do anything, US attorneys work for Joe Biden. If they are told stand down, what can they do?

It is the same issue that people have with GME situation, one rule for me, one rule for thee.

one rule for me, one rule for thee.

This one little thing does not get close to the amount of negative attention it deserves.

You'd think it would be something that based and woke would both be upset about. Granted, each side may be more upset about the other side, but the double standard should be universally hated in most cases.

Then again, we live in clown world, where the forum sliding is part of the news cycle.

Yes because leftist judges ignore the rights of the individual.

You’re expecting logical consistency from people who let dudes in drag compete in sports with women.

The baker made the mistake of saying that he wouldn't do it because he objected to it because of his religion. He should have just said that he didn't like the shirts they were wearing, then he'd have been fine.

Should of claimed to be a Muslim they would of cucked for him

How far one's rights extend depends on one's ability to defend them in court.

They should just bake it and do a really really bad job. And add some extra ingredients

2
Luvs_2_Bop 2 points ago +2 / -0

i hear you can actually remove the bad ones and artificially inflate it with positive ones anyway...

What I find really surprising about the whole baker thing is:

Go ahead and make the damn "gay wedding cake", but make it as shitty as possible. Make it all lopsided, and misspell the words.

When they complain, simply refund their money and call it a day.

Make it so they will never want you to bake their cake.

3
Red37 3 points ago +4 / -1

Make it look the best you can, but make it taste horrible. Give them a wedding to remember.

^ Good call. Bake it with Carolina Reaper juice

"rights" are directly correlated with your bank balance.

Just bake the cake bigot.

Just wear the mask bigot.

Just shut up bigot.

Forcing bakers to do stuff doesn’t challenge the elites. This can be used as a distraction. Basically they can do stuff like “be as gay as you want, just give us all your money and control of the internet and everything else” and keep doing that by exaggerating issues like a minority of bakers who don’t want to bake gay wedding cakes.

Basically if some hedge fund owners can get people elected that they control who will bail out their hedge fund by going “but muh a few bakers won’t bake gay wedding cakes” then that’s what they’ll do. They don’t care how gay anyone is, they just want the money.

There’s plenty of other stuff they don’t care about either but they’ll exploit it for reasons that have nothing to do with whatever the social conflict is. And they’ll even try to dupe people to make people think there’s a big social conflict when there isn’t one.

being gay is a protected class

being a conservative isnt. but jokes on them. being liberal isnt either. time to fight fire with fire.

I would say because it was sex discrimination? I dunno

Everyone just needs to become a tech company* and enforce a terms of service for every purchase which is perpetual.

2
Smurfection 2 points ago +2 / -0

The semi legal answer is because LGBTQIA++ people are considered members of a protected class by law. They are protected from discrimination due to being LGBTQIA++ legally. Being a normal American is not considered a protected class.

As for what I think about protected classes of people? All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others, I paraphrase from Orwell's 1984.

Next you'll tell me universities should have the right to have segregated graduation ceremonies, bigot!

1
Thomas1963-1967 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

No but Universities should have the right to pick students based on aptitude, not the color of their skin or whether they identify as some obscure sex.

1
mytummyhurts 1 point ago +1 / -0

I was making a reference to the actual segregated graduation ceremonies taking place on college campi all over the country.

1
Thomas1963-1967 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Ah. Sorry. I wondered about that after I replied. Weren't those at the request of the people, not the idea of the university? But then there are black only colleges too. And women only colleges.

https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2019/05/20/study-75-american-colleges-offer-black-only-graduation-ceremonies/

Thomas1963-1967 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

And if you tried to make a white or male only college, you would probably go to prison. If it is a women only college like Wellesly, and I identify as a woman, can I go? Can I share a dorm room with one of the female persuasion? There are 34 female only colleges in the USA and NOT ONE male only college.

Just so everybody understands my position, that was a rhetorical question. :-)

FullAutoFlintlock 1 point ago +1 / -0

giving women faggots and non Christians the right to vote and hold office in America.

This is the root everything else we've seen is effects.

1
LevonRiver 1 point ago +2 / -1

Here's why, and EXACTLY why: It's called the "Civil Rights Act" to hide the fact that it is the "PRIVATE PROPERTY ABOLITION ACT," in which the federal government SEIZED control of ALL private property, residential and commercial, with the ABSOLUTE RIGHT to tell you who you had to SERVE, and who you could SELL the property to or not.

And that is the EXACT definition of "OWNERSHIP." Nobody in the nation owns ANY real property anymore.

Any questions?

hectorspector 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's racist if you don't send your kids to the ghetto school. Me? Don't mind me. I'm over here sending my kids to private school.
