Well I am not going to jump on this bandwagon, pretty sure climate change is real, and man made and getting worse. I just don't think there is much as a single person I can do about it. Probably going to live my life out fine, it's the future generations that are going to be killed off or face the issues of food production, heatwaves/ and crazy annual storms.
As for the ice age thing, in the 1970s there were a few people talking about it, but it was small number that were just in the news, the science community was more worried about the greenhouse gas emissions.
I'm not going to go against a scientific consensus because it makes me fell better, just going to ignore it and pickup some whiskey, and BBQ some steaks.
That is not true. I grew up in the 1970's and the ice age drama was front page news worldwide!
Scientific consensus means NOTHING.
Galileo was thought the fool for saying the Earth revolved around the Sun not vice versa.
The "scientific consensus" has been for sale to the highest bidder for hundreds of years, but has only gotten worse the last few decades.
Yes it was in the news a few times, but it was not what climate scientists were talking about. of 68 studies during that decade only 10% predicted cooling, while 90% predicted warming or no-stance.
But the problem is some magazines ran with the cooling even though it was not the general consensus. A small difference also is that these days scientific consensus is well vetted unlike hundreds of years ago, it is not a group jumping on something they think is popular.
Can you explain things like the record low ice caps this year, and the hottest years on record are almost every year now. And the vast amount of once in a century storms are almost yearly now, or even multiple times a year now.
