Smart move. Because half their customers would never fly again.

smart move - gets them bargaining position to demand more government money to agree to mandate testing

I all but stopped flying after the rule to take off shoes at the airport. I take puddle jumpers to visit family once or twice a year but that's it.

Well yeah. They will have HIPAA lawsuits out the ass. Anyone who says "tHeY wIlL jUSt CHaNge hiPaA!" is an idiot. You can't even look up your own patient chart at the hospital you work for without having HR telling you to pack up your desk within the hour. HIPAA is a brick wall that no sane company will want to deal with.

this fraud government will just issue billions to the airlines on the requirement of these tests - a literal poison pill to the floundering airlines..

nationalization of the airlines is the end goal. And how would one accelerate that process? easy.

"Ok fine, we won't require anal swabbing to be mandatory"

"Oh, that's acceptable. Hey customer look up, we have to cram this stick up your face"
