Lol dumb zoomers learning how taxes work is going to be another fun redpill.

61
IsrorOrca 61 points ago +61 / -0

That is what I fear... All of the ones that sold high on GameStop haven't heard of short term capital gains tax

57
Ophelia 57 points ago +57 / -0

Yep, and wait until they realize have to pay tax on their unemployment payouts...

27
TrumpWonBigly2020 27 points ago +28 / -1

It's so hard to understand how people can be that freaking dumb.

41
85Dacudo 41 points ago +41 / -0

Honestly many people were simply never taught this stuff.

43
AlphaNathan 43 points ago +43 / -0

Imagine if we were taught in high school about taxes and how to fix cars.

17
Notch__Johnson 17 points ago +17 / -0

"then they'd become Conservatives"

17
Lord_Kek 17 points ago +17 / -0

The elites would have less drones manipulate.

16
85Dacudo 16 points ago +16 / -0

Taxes absolutely, more basic skills like maybe languages, or proper investing and learning how stocks work.

The problem with our education system is that it raises to be dependent on government not independent of it.

12
Stressfulpeace 12 points ago +12 / -0

The problem with our education system is that it raises to be dependent on government not independent of it.

That is the most perfect statement I have seen through all of this.

3
fapping123 3 points ago +3 / -0

yup never heard the word "tax" once throughout high school back in early 2000s.

2
CherokeePede 2 points ago +2 / -0

I did, but I've had a job since I was 14.

9
HockeyMom4Trump 9 points ago +9 / -0

Honestly, for many students a basic mathematics/Econ class would be more beneficial than higher algebra 2, which is required. Many students graduate and have no concept of how taxes work, how interest works, how mortgages work...

5
Greg867 5 points ago +5 / -0

The students today arent learning algebra 2 by and large. They are memorizing their way through. I promise you a strong math foundation is helpful. Americans number sense by and large is not good and causes a lot of of errors in planning and logically planning out ideas on anything in general.

1
HockeyMom4Trump 1 point ago +1 / -0

I definitely agree! A strong foundation in math is important. But I have seen how they are trying to put the roof on the building before they've built the foundation when it comes to mathematics education. It's a shame. They need a complete overhaul of most programs in the United States-our math curriculum is a failure for many students and we can see that in our test scores.

neurojerk 4 points ago +4 / -0

Why teach people how to navigate a free market system when it's nothing but a vehicle for white supremacy and misogyny? The fact that such thinking is now widespread in the education system is one of the many reasons why I sent my kid to a private school. It was goddamn expensive, and I'm not well off, but it was worth every penny to ensure I wasn't delivering a woke kid with no critical thinking skills unto the world.

6
FireannDireach 6 points ago +6 / -0

I'm old enough to remember when we were taught all taught that.

4
HockeyMom4Trump 4 points ago +4 / -0

I was fortunate. My parents taught me. Live below your means!

8
Brellin 8 points ago +8 / -0

This. The schools do not teach civics courses anymore, and haven't for a long time. Even if the teachers wanted to teach the students civics, the teachers don't know this stuff either because they never learned it themselves. Our schools are largely just indoctrination centers at this point, they teach children what to think instead of how, and do not teach them worthwhile life skills. No child gets taught how to balance a budget, how taxes work, how to set up retirement funds, what their local laws are, what their constitutionally protected rights are, how to apply for a loan, how to haggle a price when purchasing a car, or how equity works when buying a home.

All of these things are critical life skills that the schools simply do not touch upon, at all. And many children in America can't look to their parents for this information either, because their parents frequently don't know this stuff, because their parents are a product of the exact same institutions. About the only thing worthwhile that public schools in America teach is basic mathematics and reading skills, and in most districts they're failing at managing even that.

2
SmartCookie 2 points ago +2 / -0

Not sure about the mathematic skills. Aren’t they teaching “New Math”?

3
Greg867 3 points ago +3 / -0

Not in the colleges. Still good old fashioned normal math in my area

1
Brellin 1 point ago +1 / -0

Dare I ask, what is this "new math" you speak of?

1
SmartCookie 1 point ago +1 / -0

It’s the crap they teach in Common Core. Edited to add: I was thinking of elementary and middle school, because that’s where all the really important stuff was taught when I was a kid: Civics, American History, Social Studies, Geography, basic Life math, basic science and biology, etc.

3
Vorticity1 3 points ago +3 / -0

If you trade in an IRA, no taxes until you retire!

3
a_grassnake_01 3 points ago +3 / -0

I found that copious losses work as well.

1
Sl0re10 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thats probably what they were talking about.

35
Equality72521 35 points ago +35 / -0

Both of my kids are millennials. They would spout some of the most insane liberal bullshit before they started paying taxes. I still remember my younger son showing me a paycheck and saying "This can't be right, the government doesn't take that much do they?!?!" - Yes, son. Yes, they do. Welcome to the world of adulting! - lol

15
Vorticity1 15 points ago +15 / -0

The more you make, the more they take

10
ProudWhiteMan 10 points ago +10 / -0

yep I remember receiving my first paycheck and seeing the government cut. Fucking bullshit

13
Seadan 13 points ago +13 / -0

Yeah, because that first job and hourly rate gets the young mind doing some math. I make $10 an hour and worked 20 hours, I'm getting $200! Then payday, the reality sets in. If you want to really depress the children, you get to explain that now, with your post tax money, you get to pay sales tax on anything you purchase. Oh, and that fancy Ford Tempo you just filled up? ~$8 of that $35 you spent (maybe more and soon to be a lot more) was tax. Don't forget to register that vehicle either, son, that'll be another $100. And on and on and on we go.

I remember the day my Dad got mad at me for being all shitty because he told me we could not afford to buy an Apple][. He grabbed one of his paystubs and proceeded to show the reality of our finances. Next he got a calculator and showed me how to figure out how many hours he would have to work to buy an Apple][. Then he went through each of the monthly bills he had to pay an we figured out how many hours he had to work to pay those as well.

1
Equality72521 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sounds like a great dad!

3
Razorwire 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hahaha. I was like that once too :)

21
TruthWillOut 21 points ago +22 / -1

Don't worry! Your bank will soon offer to take everything you own and rent it back to you for monthly fees. As long as you do what you are told.

The stim checks are taxed???

21
Robert 21 points ago +21 / -0

No. But unemployment is considered income.

8
AlphaNathan 8 points ago +8 / -0

ngl this post confused me too

4
Seadan 4 points ago +4 / -0

He's referring to unemployment benefits, not the stimulus checks that were sent out to everyone. If you lose your job, file for unemployment benefits and receive unemployment payouts, that is taxable income. The stimulus was a tax credit, meaning, they didn't really give us anything, they just returned a portion of our money that they took from us.

Pay what back?

15
deleted 15 points ago +15 / -0
10
TrumpWonBigly2020 10 points ago +10 / -0

You're only ineligible if you made $100,000 or more in 2020. And they already said they won't require anyone to pay anything back if they got too much based on 2018 pay.

7
ignorant_slob 7 points ago +7 / -0

Basically every new college grad programmer in San Francisco.

3
FireannDireach 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's going to be a very small percentage. The big upset is the people who collected unemployment, didn't have Fed taxes taken out each payout, and will be hit in full with the bill in April. The wailing should start soon, as tax documents start going out, and people start to file early.

I just got my paperwork for the 2020 year, gonna do mine this weekend. I should clear a little bit in refund, as planned.

It's like pulling the trigger on a revolver 1,000,000 times and the hammer has fallen at least that many times on casings that refuse to fire. They're wet... or something. They WIILL NOT FIRE.

you put the gun down on your truck and with no explanation - pistol fires and shoots your dog.

Tens of millions hate the government. The ones who I thought were crazy and violent against the government when I was a kid were probably the sane ones. We're the crazy ones who didn't do enough to correct this.

7
RiverFenix 7 points ago +7 / -0

Careful.

You're a hop-skip away from contemplating something about WW2, a burning question you'll never get the answer to.... and which could get you SHOT!

Was Mustache Man... Bad?

3

He's also too close to suggesting something actually should've been done, and we all know about the glowies here.

2

Are you talking about the juicy-ish question???

8

I'm still working on "Love the country, question governance." "Our leaders are mostly good" I believe none of it now.

8
Wishdonwasdad 8 points ago +8 / -0

With corona virus..you at least have a fighting chance. With government shutdown you don't even have that.

4
LowKeyPede 4 points ago +4 / -0

Didn't the IRS seriously refer to citizens as "Revenue Generators" at some point or was I misled? I recall hearing that, maybe during the Tea Party movement.

3
8thDayMAGA 3 points ago +3 / -0

Was that before or after they stocked up on ammo and bullets during 0bama?

The Ron Paul will be strong with this one

4
Patriotparty1971 4 points ago +4 / -0

We have to pay taxes? Idiots. Just take your 600 and be good 🐑

3
RiverFenix 3 points ago +3 / -0

So if they send you anything, make sure you keep at least 40% of it in case they want it back...

Why not just send 60% in the first place and hold back what you're going to take back anyways. They are supposed to be the smart ones who know this shit before hand, not the stupid citizen getting the random money..

it's all so insane. It's some type of racket/scheme to truly fuck you for life. Like the small business loans they offered last March.. which i hope nobody took..

3

"Then don't use your stupid to vote with."

3
complythis 3 points ago +3 / -0

you CAN escape the system. It takes courage. determination. study. massive balls. righteous anger. will. grit. understanding that even if they railroad u with illegal shit you are NOT in the wrong and you are NOT a criminal no matter how dirty they'll play to make you out to be one. imagine if you didnt file for 25 yrs and they want to throw u in prison for a yr or 2 and garnish your check. is that a good trade to you personally? you can do the time and come out and bartend. 70% of your new earnings will be cash money under the table from patrons trading their cash for your service. let them garnish the 1-2-$300 hrly check every week. just a shower thought if it came to that. OR you can WIN in court. the question isnt how come nobody wins against them in court. its WHICH court did you stand toe to toe with them in. jurisdiction. delegated authority. law. lawful. legal. constitution. ammendment. these are just some shower thought buzz words that if you can put in the research you can find out the right combination to solve the formula and escape. its starts with consent. jurisdiction is in there. people have fought and won many many times but you would never ever hear about it. you can find the receipts. but not on google
