"On Wednesday, the Justice Department announced charges against a social media influencer for a meme that was circulated in the weeks running up to the 2016 presidential election. According to the complaint, the meme erroneously informed Hillary Clinton voters they could cast their ballots simply by texting a number from their cell phones. "

I hope nobody here has done any memes - the DOJ might be coming after you to charge you and put you in prison.

Biden's DOJ is bringing the charges - but Trump's DOJ did the investigation.

Trump's DOJ? I don't see that in the article.

Oh, so you think that Joe Biden last week called up Chris Wray and told him to start an investigation of the Twitter troll - and they did the whole investigation - and just brought the charges ?

you made it sound like it was Trumps fault. like he ordered it or some shit. sure, it could have been in the works before but doesn't mean it had anything to do with Trump.

No, I meant what I said. It was Trump's DOJ. Trump hired the head of DOJ and the director of the FBI - and this is how those people chose to use the resources of the DOJ.

Trump either didn't know about it or didn't care or did know and was OK with it.

Take your pick.

as far as I can see, this is/was way more deepstate tactics than Trump tactics. at the same time, hiring, and not firing Wray(and others) was a severe flaw for Trump. at the start, he didn't have enough political savvy to know how deep the deepstate is, but towards the end he should have been ditching people like Wray as fast as he could. all they did was undermine his administration. and he let them stay.
