What was he able to accomplish regarding this as President though? I bet anything he wanted to do would be blocked by both parties in congress.

Even as it was, he seems to have tried to take on too many elites at once.

No, I don't even think he attempted it.

Trump had a lot of plans, including unifying the nation in a way that only a great leader such as himself can do. All of his plans were totally destroyed by RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA and MSM (redundant, I know). MSM pushed this narrative so hard that they convinced all the Democrats that Trump worked directly with Putin to steal the 2016 election and that he was a Russian agent. They created extreme hyper polarization, halting all of Trump's plans in their tracks.
