If you're at an airport you need to go quite a bit further. There are many narrow points you are forced through where all your credit cards and anything else with RFID is sniffed and used to identify you, even if they can't contact a database they can use the unique identifiers to track you. So everything from your passport to credit cards, and anything else with RFID needs to be in a faraday pouch. Your phone should be in a faraday pouch aswell.
Though a person with no phone, credit cards, or passport RFID tags can raise a few flags too.
