They claim Lincoln was a democrat, they're dumbed down not to accept facts.

Then they discovered he was a republican and they started saying that the man who freed the slaves did so, to, get this, oppress black people.

They sound like Reasonable and Sane People.

You would think that they would ask why the GOP calls themselves the party of Lincoln.

Either that or they'll go on some rant about the party switch so they can take credit for ending slavery.

Just think, in 100 years Kyle Rittenhouse will be on the $50 bill.

In 100 years $50 will be worth .0000001 cent.

Wow. Harriet Tubman looks a lot like Stagecoach Mary.

You’re right, that’s not Harriet Tubman.

I still don’t understand the Jackson worshiping ... Tubman was a badass

Jackson did a lot of good things, he fought the banks and cleared the US debt (only president to do so). The banks hated him so much that they tarnished his name and mocked him by putting him on the $20, but people learned about Jackson via the $20.

No

He wanted to replace the Whig bank with his own version of the bank ... he got halfway

Jefferson balanced the budget ... Jackson inflated the civil service, he was the first president to be elected by the spoils system

He moved the money into pet banks, that is correct. Which were effectively local banks. The man did have some issues and made a lot of mistakes on dealing with Native Americans, according to historians.

Jackson is my all time favorite president. Aside from being a total badass maverick as a military commander, fighting in the revlotionary war and being captured as a POW AT AGE 14, winning the Battle of New Orleans (even though the war had been over for 2 weeks, word hadn’t reached either side about it yet), chased marauding Indians into Spanish territory with no concern of international relations, because that’s who was arming them against the Americans. Dueled against the best dueler in his state, knew he couldn’t win conventionally, so he let him shoot him in the chest so he could unhurriedly deliver a killing shot. He was almost assassinated when the guys TWO guns failed, then nearly beat the man to death with his cane. His inauguration had so much liquor and party goers, he had to sneak out of the White House. Most importantly, his most important work was killing the central Bank of America. He saw what private central banks could do, he knew they were the future of modern slavery. Ownership of people and their future, without consent or care, but he cared. His life’s work culminated in the removal of our central bank. To highlight how important the banking issue was to him, despite his crazy badass awesome life, his dying words were “I killed the banks”.

Jackson was like Trump on steroids and gin. He was truly a remarkable character and a massive influence on our ideas of liberty. Yes, he also had some mean streaks to him, and he did some awful things. He’s still top 5 presidents we’ve ever had.

Spez: he also taught himself to read, then taught himself law, and became a practicing lawyer without law school. He also ran his own militias between wars.

I cannot deny his prowess as a military commander and as a force of nature

But I won’t worship a man that made corruption official by the spoils system, expanded the federal bureaucracy to secure political power and launched a preemptive war causing a refugee crisis ...

And he wasn’t against central banking ... he was against Whig central banking ... he still wanted state banking to be a thing only under the hard money model of Jefferson outlawing easy credit ... thankfully the private banking system found a way around it

Those are all great points. I totally understand why you’re not all about him. I guess I might venerate him more culturally than politically.

This is the same story about people who like and dislike people like Reagan and JFK. Your personal values weigh the good and the bad which determines how you ultimately see them.

Stalin will feel quite the fool when he finds out Trotsky was actually a communist.
