A hilarious based man by the name Edward Dutton has a term coined for it: spiteful mutant.
He mentions a lot the concept of mutational load. Mutational load is essentially how much the maladaptive parts of your genetics hinders your development.
People with higher mutational load tend to have a higher probability of facial asymmetry/ugliness and mental illness because their bodies cannot develop properly due to the genetic issues taking up resources during growth.
Those with lower mutational load are able to develop with higher IQs and symmetrical faces, because their development isn't being hindered by their genetics in the same way the mutant is. He's found that this seems to have a correlation with Conservative/Traditionalist-minded people, though I forget if the correlation is a strong one.
As a result, these maladaptive people tend to latch onto maladaptive ideologies as a way to "stick it" to society.
