I can't believe how long its been since 2008. Only 3 years after I graduated and was just starting to want to buy a house. The fucking pressure to buy a house in AZ at the time was insane. People camping for days for a chance to buy an unbuilt house in a subdivision that hadn't even broken ground yet. For insane inflated prices (150K to 600K in the matter of 2 years.). My college friends recent grads with loan debt, let the Realtors talk them into buying homes at 5X-7X income with 100K in debt.

I thought dishing out HALF A MILLION for a first home right out of college was crazy. I was lucky enough to have been with my parents building a house in the 90s and seeing what costs where for fully loaded houses and landscaping. 220K in South Florida in 95'. Pay was roughly the same in 2008 as it was in 95'.

I will NEVER EVER EVER trust another realtor again after watching the sheer Baghdad bob type propaganda coming from NAR. (National Association of Realtors). On one hand I blame the people a lot for being stupid with their finances.. But I blame Clinton and the Fed for allowing it happen too. Crooks every one of them.

The republicans were as at fault as the dems. Those housing bills were signed with "bipartisan support", which is just a fancy way of saying "both parties can screw while appearing to look good".

one of my life rules is that anytime you hear "bipartisan support" get ready for a dry ass-fucking of immeasurable size.

Yes. The government was probably 80% responsible for what happened in 2008.
