occupy wall street is something that was widely misunderstood. In the beginning, before it was co-opted, the root of it was outrage at banks being "bailed out" while the lowly peons were left to suffer the consequences. "banks got bailed out, we got sold out." It then spun into all kinds of other stuff. But at the original gatherings all sorts of people were there, from don't tread on me tea partiers to leaders in urban communities.
I went to OWS a few times at Zuccotti Park and there were some libertarian/anti-Fed types there but it was mostly dirty communists looking for an excuse to party.
Agreed. I tried hard to get those people to question who birthed it toward it’s self-destructiveness and no one could answer that question or I was deterred from questioning the birth.
