Thank you for sharing it. The SEC was founded by a crook who helped coordinate the Wall Street crash of '29 that started the great depression, Joe Kennedy, and when called out for FDR said "It takes a crook to catch a crook" and in my life time it's all been crooked and probably was back then too.

I used to love these kinds of posts in r/conspiracy before things got so weird. They aren't conspiracies, obviously, just a place where this was talked about openly.
Its all cover ups, it is corruption, possibly wide spread corruption. And its happening now to General Electric , maybe people are saying it. I personally don't know the evidence. But cooking the books is very real folks. Not just for a ponzi scheme but also with publicly traded companies books to make the stock appear healthy
I personally know a few employees. They all insist they thought it was 100% legit operation , business. Until the day the fbi agents pulled the employees into a room and told them its over.
The employees who worked their whole careers since teenagers had no idea.
What I think. ( that's hard to believe) but also.. bernie took the Fall. But I think his Sons were in on it with him. And wife too Maybe. I think the family was corrupt and the employees did a job.

You want to see an interesting story, watch The Man Who Knew. The story of FBI agent James O'Neill who was tasked with following our 9/11 hijackers around. He begged the agency to pull them in knowing they were ready to strike, but was told to stand down. After they fd him around, probably because he actually wanted to do his job, he quits the Bureau and takes a job as head of security at the World Trade Center. He felt an attack was eminent and thought he could help stop it. LSS, he starts the job in August, Towers are attacked just weeks later and O'Neill is dead. O' Neill knew and was ignored than forced out of the FBI. The guy was an expert on Bin Laden. Too bad he was killed and not around to tell us the rest of the story, lucky for the FBI.
My sister in laws father ran a Bernie like scheme, but with insurance. Everyone thought he was legit until he got too greedy and couldn't pay the claims. But he ran that baby for 15 years.
We had many clients who invested with Bernie , they thought he was legit and made consistently great returns because he had access to insider information. I think he was the head of NASDAQ at one point no? So, they didn't think he was a crook, they just thought he traded off of inside information lol.

At the firm, he employed his brother Peter Madoff as senior managing director and chief compliance officer, Peter's daughter Shana Madoff as the firm's rules and compliance officer and attorney, and his now deceased sons Mark and Andrew. Peter was sentenced to 10 years in prison and Mark died by suicide by hanging exactly two years after his father's arrest. Andrew died of lymphoma on September 3, 2014
