Gamestop needs to transform into the newest competitive video streaming/gaming network/platform.... They should have enough money now to do some development. People may have caused massive losses to hedge funds, but maybe doing this would help consolidate the gains they made, and also disrupt Netflix, Amazon and Disney.

There is a significant amount of nerdy collectors that will always want to buy physical copies with game cases and media. If the game companies do away with this, they will lose a segment of their customer base that spends a lot of money on games. I am one of those people. The day they stop selling standalone games that don't require internet or serials for activation, that is the day I turn to piracy and never look back.
