Thanks for the extensive explanation. Once they had the core group of paid rioters going, many people joined in for fun. Not because they had strong feelings about anything. When I was a kid my friends and I would run and hide from the town cop at night, because we were bored and it was exciting. We weren't worried about getting shot (even though that was a possibility). I think it's the same for many who are assumed to be antifa. Just bored folks playing, without concern for the consequences.

Yep. Most of the core group were "community organizers" who convinced a bunch of white upper middle class kids to play act as revolutionaries but mostly, it was the lost dejected losers that showed up that did the violence. They didn't do it for political reasons. They did it for the fun of it. Ever notice all these things usually happen on warm or hot nights in summer? I suspect part of the reason for the shut down was so the loser stoner kids would have time on their hands and swell the ranks of Antifa/BLM which happened a bit but not as much as the left hoped.
